On Saturday, February 2nd, Neil Grover was a featured clinician at the Music Educators Day of Percussion in Suffolk County, NY.

Neil was thrilled to return to Long Island, NY, where he grew up. He traces his roots in percussion back to his early days of studying on Long Island. One of the key educators influential to Neil, Don Larsen, was on hand to see Neil's presentation on tambourine and cymbals.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN..

In December, Neil Grover embarked on the annual Boston Pops Holiday US Concert Tour. In between concert engagements with the Pops, Neil found time to present clinics at the University of Connecticut (Peter Coutsourides - Director) and Old Dominion University (David Walker - Director). Neil's presentation covered a whole semester's worth of tambourine, triangle and cymbal playing, all in 90 minutes!

PASIC 2007!

Grover Pro Percussion has just returned from one of our most successful PASIC shows ever! As usual, we had luminaries and the percussion world's top players visiting our booth and lauding our products. The excitement this year centered around the introduction of a new 8" heat-treated tambourine model (model T2/HTS-8) and the premier of our new Artist's ChoiceTM keyboard percussion instruments!

Below is a slideshow of the event!

NEW 8" Heat-Treated Silver Tambourine

The Grover R&D team developed this new model as result of numerous requestsfrom top orchestral players. Our new Model T2/HTS-8, 8" Heat-Treated Silver Tambourine is clearly the brightest, most articulate sounding tambourine we have ever manufactured! This model is perfect for passages that require unquestionable articulation. The jingles on this 8" model tambourine will respond whisper soft, without losing any clarity of sound. We have compressed the jingles slots on this model so that there are only 2 less jingles that our larger 10" models. This means that the dynamic range of the T2/HTS-8 competes with the full voicing of our larger models.

Renowned percussionist and educator Tim Adams got so excited about this new model that while playing he couldn't help calling a colleague to tell him about the new model (see photo). These tambourines are made in limited quantities and may be difficult to find. Please contact us if you are unable to locate a dealer who stocks this model

Grover tambourines - the choice downunder!

Pictured is Alan Watson, Percussionist with the Australian Ballet & Opera Orchestra. Each year, he runs a percussion competition, which the Aussies call an "Eisteddfod". Young percussionists from all around Australia come to perform and be judged. There are prizes for those who finish in the top of their respective categories.

The three day event also provides an opportunity for young percussionists to learn from some of the world's finest solo and concert percussionists. This year, Alan gave a masterful presentation on tambourine. Alan is also the owner of Australia's top percussion retail shop OPTIMUM PERCUSSION
