Grover Custom Drum Kits

Maple SeriesTHE SHELLS

Our Maple Series drums feature 8 or 10 ply shells constructed from cross-grained New England maple. We hand select only the finest maple shells, offering a traditional warm tone and superior resonance. Every shell is precision machined using our high tech custom Digital Numeric Control machining center. This gives flawless acurracy in all holes, bearing edges and snare beds, assuring every dimension is accurate to within .001".

Bearing EdgesTHE BEARING EDGES

Our bearing edges and snare beds are cut from computer assisted designs to optimize drumhead vibration and allow total drum shell resonance. A feathered 45° bearing edge allows for easy tuning, precise drumhead seating and consistent attack and decay across a wide dynamic range. While all edges are computer machined, our final "hand-sanding" process customs crafts each and every drum to assure that both high and low frequency overtones are transmitted from head to shell..

THE HARDWARE
CNC technology assures perfect placement of mounting holes, resulting in hardware that fits tightly with no air leakage.

HardwareLOW MASS LUGS
Our classic "coffin-style" die-cast lugs are low mass and are isolated with rubber bushings that allow the drum to vibrate freely.

SUPER HOOPS
Our 2.3mm Super Hoops provide dependable, consistent tensioning without choking or altering the quality of the drum’s sound.

TOM MOUNT / THROW-OFF
Our versatile tom mounts and throw offs are designed to be easy-to-use and worry-free while maximizing the drum’s natural resonance.

THE GROVER BADGE
The traditional Grover badge guarantees that your instrument is custom-built in the U.S.A. with meticulous dedication to quality to provide a lifetime of drumming perfection.

Nodal Venting NODAL VENTING
Grover’s exclusive nodal venting system places an Air Dispersion Vent (ADV) at the shell’s minimal vibration point (closer to the bottom head). This allows for a faster transient attack while the multiple ports precisely focus and contain air dispersion to maximize the resonance of the drum.

THE FINISH

10 Coat Polished Lacquer finishes available in Natural Maple, Ebony Stain, Mahogany Stain, or Walnut Stain.

THE POWER PICC
 ™

The Power PICC

"
I was surprised -- and pleased -- at how much body and full sound these little drums could produce...crispness and sensitivity was the order of the day. As an added bonus, The Power-Piccs sound very timbalesque when their snares are off."

 Rick Van Horn (Modern Drummer

)

"The 6x12 Power Picc makes a terrific high-pitched snare on multiple percussion works,,,it works especially well for the toy-drum part in the Nutcracker."
 Doug Wolf (University of Utah)

Power PICC For years, drummers have been adding toms, cymbals and other accessories to their drumset configurations while their snare drum options have remained stagnant. The snare drum is such a vital component to your drumset that it doesn't make sense to settle for just one.

Now you can double your snare power with crowd-cutting back beats!

Use the Power-Picc™ to add flare to your back beats, increase your grace note options or simulate a timbale shot (with snares off).

Available in 5x10" or 6x12" sizes. But don't let the size fool you. These drums pack a mean punch.

Our standard snare drum sizes include 4.75x13, 5.5x14 & 6.5x14.

"It rocked! A top-of-the line sounding snare, that looks as good as it sounds, with a great crack, that is both warm and round and still has a nice top end to it. I love 'em!"
 Charlie Grover (Sponge)

"I was going crazy trying to find a "signature snare" sound for myself, until I tried the Grover Pro Percussion snare. There it was; the sound I wanted. The Grover has the sensitivity, the guts, and the versatility I need. It sounds great in every room, regardless of the acoustics, and there's a real sense of craftsmenship apparent."

PERFORMANCE SNARE SYSTEM

"The Snares Make All The Difference"

Performance Snare SystemWhile most drum manufacturers supply snare drums with low-quality spiral snares, we outfit our snare drums with the highest quality snare system available. After all, why put a cheap $5 set of snare wires on a high-quality drum when the snare wires provide the drum with its fundamental sound?

"My snare drum sounds great thanks to the Performance Snare System by Grover."
Dennis Chambers

"Having reviewed dozens of custom snare drums over the years, I've often wondered why the very thing that makes a snare drum a snare drum -- the snares -- is overlooked...Grover Pro Percussion has some genuinely different snares to throw into the mix...good range of dynamic sensitivity...choice of six models provides excellent tonal selection."
 Rick Mattingly (Modern Drummer)

"It always amazes me to see drummers spend a lot of money on a snare drum only to put cheap snares on it. The snares themselves are one of the most important components in the overall sound of the snare drum. Plain and simple, Grover snares are the key to a great snare drum sound."
 Zoro

"I have tried every type of snare on the market. But, I could never get the right sound from my snare and my snare wires were always stretching too much. That was until I tried  Grover Snare strands. When I first put them on my steel shell snare drum the first thing I noticed was it wasn't as "ringy", even though I tuned it to a high pitched. The other thing I liked is the fact that there is very little or no snare buzz when I hit my toms, which is what I like. I want to hear my toms when I hit them, not my snare. Grover Snare Strands are the best and I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best snare sound.

 Tommy Campbell

" Your snares are GREAT! I love the super sensitivity and projection, the reduction in unwanted buzz, and the fact that they do not have to be so tight. Your advertisement is absolutely correct...that the snare wires make all the difference."
 Bill Larken

Sure, you can add die-cast hoops, and all kinds of accessories to your snare drum. But aside from the shell, the snare wires are still the most vital component in determining the drum's sound.

The Performance Snare System™ (available separately) is made of non-spiral snare wires that add power, projection and response to any snare drum

It is available in three different models (gauges) to meet the needs of any performance situation: Jazz (thin), Club (medium), and Stadium (thick). The thinner gauges offer more sensitivity near the edge of the drum, while the thicker gauges provide more volume and projection.

Furthermore, each model is available with either silver strands (bright sounding) or bronze strands (dark sounding). Improving your snare drum sound is now as easy as changing your snare wire.
